Women Sunday, October 12 Motos 1 & 2 HOW TO GET TO THE 2003 WATERCROSS WORLD CHAMPIONSHIPS World Finals Regional Qualifying Program A rider's best eight races within a region from January 1, 2003 through August 24, 2003 will count toward qualifying for the 2003 IJSBA World Finals. Riders may attend more than eight races. In regions with less than eight races, all races will count. “During the past year we received a lot of input from racers and IJSBA promoters regarding the regional qualifying system,” said IJSBA’s Jim Delzer. “The feedback identified the disparity in the number of events that were held between regions. Some regions required riders to participate at a greater number of events to qualify for the World Finals. The new system puts a cap on the number of events that will be used to determine point standings. The number of allocation positions from regional events, the Motosurf Nationals and the IJSBA National Tour will be announced next week.” Final Regional Championship standings will be determined by adding points from all regional races held within a region from January 1 to December 31. 2003 Regional Classes For 2003 Pro-Am Ski Superstock will be offered in place of Pro Ski Superstock and Pro-Am Runabout 1200 Superstock will be offered in place of Pro Runabout 1200 Superstock. “To increase participation at regional events, Pro Ski Superstock and Pro Runabout 1200 Superstock have been changed to pro-am classes,” said Delzer. “The change in classes will allow pros an opportunity to race against more riders. Since pro-am is a combined pro and expert class, experts will now have an opportunity to race against the pros without jeopardizing their expert status. Experts can gain valuable race experience against pro riders and use that experience in their decision to pursue a pro competition license.” Pro riders will still be able to qualify for the World Finals from regional events. Pro riders who enter Pro-Am Ski Superstock at regional events will be eligible to sign up for Pro Ski Superstock at the World Finals and pro riders who enter Pro-Am Runabout 1200 Superstock at regional events will be eligible to sign up for Pro Runabout 1200 Superstock at the World Finals. The Following Classes Will Be Offered At Regional Events: Pro-Am Classes 1. Pro-Am Ski Superstock Expert Classes 1. Expert Ski Superstock Amateur Classes 1. Amateur Veterans Runabout 1200 Superstock
Novice Classes 1. Novice Ski Superstock
