into an excellent Superstock.  We only had about a week to dial it in before racing the Pro/Am class at the World Finals, and the boat ran flawlessly all the way through the weekend.  Mel Miller built a very strong motor package for us and helped us put the finishing touches on it with his high tech tuning instruments.  Our Yamahas have always run very well, but the little XPL just has the advantage in handling because of its light weight and superior hull design.

WC:  Sounds like you had things going right just in time. 


What was it like sitting on the line at the World Finals as you looked up and down the line and seeing the fastest riders in the world?  And as the rubber band snapped and you got through the 1st turn what was running through your head?  I imagine you had to keep a fast pace, yet trying not to make a mistake.

KR:  The pro class is very competitive, especially at the World Finals with the fastest riders in the world, riding the fastest watercraft ever built.  I am sure that must sound intimidating.  Realize however that there are no second rate riders there on the line in the midst of the best of the best in our sport.  That statement might not sound as modest as I would like it to, but the only guy that races
